• Level III Training Prerequisite: Because the safe and appropriate use of pepper spray requires a strong foundation in defensive tactics and use of force, this course is strictly approved only for students who have successfully completed Texas Level III Training. (Note: Non-commissioned officers may take this course, provided they have completed the Level III curriculum).
• Professional Focus: This training is designed specifically for security professionals and is not intended for the general public.
• Current Curriculum: Previously received training on older curriculums is no longer approved by the Private Security Board. You must complete this current curriculum to maintain your legal defense to carry.

• No Live Spraying Required: Per DPS guidelines, students are not required to be sprayed with pepper spray to pass this course.
